Paul Cezanne- The most influential artists in the history of modern painting
Paul Cezanne was a French artist and impressionist painter who was born in the year of 1839 January 19. He created the bridge between the Impressionism of the 18th century and the new development of the 20th century. His work depicts the mastery of design. He had a keen knowledge of color, composition, and draftsmanship. He used colors and brush strokes that created a sensation among people. He was born in a bourgeois family and received his earlier education in Bourbon college. He wanted to become a painter from an earlier age, but his father was against his dreams. His father was a successful banker, and he wanted to enter his son into the same profession. So, to fulfill his father's dreams, he joined the law school of the University, but he had no interest in this, so, after his parent's permission, he decided to pursue some kind of artistic career. Earlier days of Paul Cezanne
In the year of 1861 the Paul Cezanne visited Paris to join his artistic career in the Academie Suisse. Then he visited many countries and gained inspiration. But soon, he found himself in self-doubt after some months. After that, he joined his father's business and continued his artistic study at the school of design. Soon, in 1862 he returned to Paris and stayed there for one and half months. These days he met with Camille Pissarro and Claude Monet, who inspired him. The paintings of Cezanne are inspired by the peculiar and important revolutionary type of painting that creates resemblance. The major subjects which he worked are fantasies, dreams, preoccupation, and religious paintings. He followed a romantic but impassioned technique of painting. Some of his major works are Man in a blue cap, Washing of a corpse. Each and every painting of Paul Cezanne defines the profound depth of feeling. He performed many contemporary but traditional artistic works.
Cezanne and his career
In the year 1872, he visited France, where he spent almost three years of his life and learned many things. In this period, he started decided to paint nature, and suddenly the religious and romantic subjects of painting started disappearing from his canvas. He decided to participate in the first exhibition in Societe Anonyme with his friend in 1874. This exhibition is organized by the radical artist who builds the team of Impressionism. 1877 he submitted his 16 paintings in this exhibition. He did so many marvelous works, and those are Paul Cezanne, "House of the Hanged Man," "Portrait of Victor Choque," and many more! Soon he married a model with whom he spent almost 17 years of his life. But after some time, his father died. A novel named as L'Oeuvrewritten by the friend of Cezanne hurt him deeply. In that novel, the main character of the story is a painter who is presented as a failure guy. Cezanne took this story as a failure of his own career, and he broke his friendship with Zola.
Death & Legacy of Paul Cezanne
At the time of painting in 1906, Cezanne was overtaken by a storm and became ill. He died in 1906. But soon, in the year 1907, the artistic career of Cezanne and his achievements were honored. The paintings of Cezanne define the development of modern art.
