Johannes Vermeer: The collection of paintings that celebrate an ordinary life
Johannes Vermeer, a Dutch painter, also known as Vermeer of Delft or Johannes van der Meer or Jan Vermeer, was born in a middle class family on October 31, 1632 in Delft. His father, Reijnier Janszoon, was a silk worker. Johannes Vermeer (1632 - 1675) becomes a Dutch Baroque Period painter who is stated as one of the best painters of the Dutch Golden Age. The Dutch Golden Age was a completely unique period in the history of the Netherlands, spanning the generation from 1581 to 1672 in which its political, economic, and cultural greatness were among the maximum powerful and influential in the world.

There are thirty-four paintings attributed to Johannes Vermeer depicting 17th-century, middle-class, daily life, with almost all his artwork set in small rooms in his residence in Delft showing the identical furniture and often portraying the same people.
At that time, the most prestigious cultural works emphasized aristocratic, military, and spiritual lives, such as the great Renaissance artists who produced magnificent artwork of Saints, Angels, and kings, queens, and aristocrats who were celebrated on the loveliest canvasses.

- The Little Street (1657-58) the painting
"The Little Street" portrays a quiet street scene in Vermeer's hometown of Delft (well-known for its Delft pottery and ceramic products). It depicts a female sewing, kids gambling, and a woman busy in the yard. It highlights regular lifestyles in Delft throughout the Dutch Golden Age and is exhibited at the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam. The Little Street is one of best three Vermeer paintings of perspectives of Delft, the others being View of Delft and the now misplaced House Standing in Delft. This simple street scene has to turn out to be one of the greatest paintings in the world.
